VICE-Lighting and Artist Inspiration

                LINSAY ADLER
When researching to help develop my idea for my shoot for vice. I tried to research photography who have done the same, if not similar to what I want to try and recreate. I hope to gain inspiration from how they photographed the images. But also see how they've used Lighting and props.

I choose this photographer because her image are very similar to what I want to recreate within my own. But also because when researching her work further she actually shows how she got her images on her website with how's she lit the image, edited and also lists her Equipment she used. I found this really useful as she also shoot in the studio and is using many light adapters that we have in University.
She also showed how she retouched her images. This was helpful to see as many photographers might not show what they took before retouching them. Which can be hard to see what's "real" and what's been added on to enhance their image.

Overall I like this photographer use of lighting and prop like how she used an actual canvas for her model to come out from to give the image more dimension. I think this really work to give across her theme of a living painting. Then with her lighting she uses is the same I want to use. She said she wanted to use soft lighting to make the paint look soft and beautiful to do this she use an umbrella modifier to get this affect. A long with reflectors to help make the canvas all white and more of a canvas text when photographed with the paint added in post.

Overall I think that this photographer has really helped to inspire me to use soft lighting for my vice shoot to achieve the same affect that the photographer use it. She also helped me to think of different props to use for m shoot to made more of the theme to my images.
